England could be without pace bowler Stuart Broad for the third Test against India in Mohali due to a foot injury.
Broad underwent scans on his right foot after the first day of the ongoing second Test in Visakhapatnam on Friday and was found to have suffered damage to a tendon.
The 30-year-old’s injury will be reassessed after the second Test before a final decision is taken on what the best course of action will be.
“Stuart Broad has strained a tendon and one of the small joints in his right forefoot. The injury will be reviewed further at the end of the Test,” an England statement said.
Should Broad be ruled out of the third Test, it would be a major blow for England as they are already without seamer Chris Woakes, who is currently nursing a knee injury.
Steven Finn and Jake Ball are the two other fast bowlers in the Test squad and either one of them could be included in the playing XI if Broad is sidelined for the match in Mohali.

If Woakes isn’t fit then I’d go for Ball over Finn.
I’d definitely agree that Ball would be a better choice than Finn.
