Pakistan have brought back batsmen Umar Akmal and Asad Shafiq for the upcoming three-match ODI series against the West Indies.
Akmal has not played ODI cricket since the 2015 World Cup, while Shafiq has been out of the ODI squad since October last year.
Akmal was included after assuring the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that there would be no further problems with his conduct, while Shafiq was drafted into the side following his impressive showing at the National T20 Cup, where he was the fourth-highest run-scorer with 310 runs at a brilliant average of 51.66.
Pace bowlers Sohail Khan and Rahat Ali were also recalled, but there was no place in the side for batsman Sami Aslam and veteran seamer Umar Gul. Batsman Mohammad Hafeez also failed to make the cut as he is still recovering from a calf injury.
The ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies will get underway on Friday in Sharjah.
