It may be a long time before we see Australia seamer Nathan Coulter-Nile again as he was diagnosed with a lumbar bone stress injury.
Coulter-Nile will begin a rehabilitation program, but Australia physiotherapist David Beakley did not give a timeline of when the 28-year-old could return. However, he did say that Coulter-Nile’s comeback “will be determined in due course”.
Beakley revealed that Coulter-Nile has been feeling a “gradual increase in lower back pain which is now preventing him from bowling at match intensity.”
Coulter-Nile had been in Sri Lanka as part of Australia’s Test and ODI squads, but failed to play a single game before returning home to have the injury assessed.
The Western Australia native has struggled with injuries as of late as he suffered a hamstring injury in September 2015 and dislocated his shoulder while representing the Perth Scorchers in the 2015/16 Big Bash League (BBL).
