Veteran Pakistan batsman Younis Khan is not worried about going up against England’s in form pace attack next month.
England recently defeated Sri Lanka 2-0 in a three-match Test series, during which the pace duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad played a pivotal role as they combined to take 33 wickets.
Despite England posing a serious threat, Younis is not exhibiting any signs of nerves as Pakistan got the better of England, triumphing 2-0, when they met in the United Arab Emirates in November last year.
Younis also admitted that he is looking forward to playing at Lord’s even though their last meeting at the venue was marred by the spot-fixing scandal in 2010.
“No doubt about Anderson and Broad – they are the top bowlers these days. But we play regularly against Broad and Steven Finn and Anderson,” he said. “It is always a pleasure whenever you play in Lord’s. The tradition and using that dressing room and that ground… in my mind it’s always a challenge and a pleasure for me so playing cricket in England is all about that.
“If you go there and play according to your plans you’ll be successful in any conditions and against any bowler.”
Meanwhile, Younis continues to remain coy on his Test future, but hinted that he may decide to call it quits after the tour of England.
“Maybe it will be my final tour,” he said. “As a cricketer and as a top sportsman, I feel very comfortable with my fitness and my form so God willing (if) I perform the way I perform for my country maybe I will play for four-five more years, maybe.”
