Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman AB de Villiers and captain Virat Kohli both made centuries to lead their side to a 144-run win over the Gujarat Lions, which is now the largest margin of victory in IPL history.
Opting to bowl first, the Lions got rid of Bangalore opener Chris Gayle early on before De Villiers and Kohli took over and amassed a 229-run partnership.
With things having already spiralled out of the control, Praveen Kumar provided the breakthrough for the Lions on the penultimate ball of the innings when he dismissed Kohli for 109 off 55 balls, which included five boundaries and eight sixes.

Shane Watson fell the very next ball, but with De Villiers remaining undefeated on 129 off 52 deliveries, which included 10 boundaries and 12 sixes, Bangalore finished on 248/3 off their 20 overs.
Kumar was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Dhawal Kulkarni chipped in with one.
Chasing a mammoth total of 249 to win, the Lions did not even get out of the starting blocks as only three of their batsmen – Aaron Finch, Ravindra Jadeja and captain Brendon McCullum – reached double figures.
With that being said, the Lions scored a dismal 104 before they were bowled out.
Chris Jordan inflicted the most damage with four wickets, while Yuzvendra Chahal snapped up three and Sachin Baby took two. Sreenath Aravind meanwhile claimed one wicket.
De Villiers was named Man of the Match.
