Sri Lanka batsman Kaushal Silva has been included in the Test squad for the team’s tour of England next month.

Silva was recently discharged from hospital and given a clean bill of health after being struck on the back of the head while fielding during a practice match in Pallekele last Sunday.

Sri Lanka have also drafted uncapped batsmen Dasun Shanaka and Dhananjaya de Silva in the squad, while Lahiru Thirimanne also found a place.

In terms of their bowling line-up, Sri Lanka have decided to pick five pace bowlers and two spinners. Dhammika Prasad, Dushmantha Chameera, Nuwan Pradeep, Suranga Lakmal and Shaminda Eranga will make up the pace attack, while Rangana Herath and Dilruwan Perera will be Sri Lanka’s go-to spinners.

Sri Lanka travel to England on May 4 and will play two practice matches against Essex and Leicestershire before the first Test begins at Headingley on May 19.
