Australia are aiming to rope in Yorkshire coach Jason Gillespie as their new bowling coach.

The Baggy Greens are on the hunt for a bowling coach after Craig McDermott decided to step down from the position following the World Twenty20 in India.

Gillespie, a former Australia pace bowler, has enjoyed a lot of success since taking over as Yorkshire coach in November 2011 as the county side won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015.

“Gillespie will certainly be at the forefront with other bowling coaches,” Lehmann told FIVEaa radio. “We hope we can entice him back.”

Despite their interest in Gillespie, Australia are unlikely to name a new bowling coach until the start of their domestic season later this year.
