Hossain was dropped from the list of centrally contracted players

Bangladesh pace bowler Rubel Hossain has been omitted from the list of centrally contracted players for 2016.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) decided not to give Hossain a central contract as he has been plagued by injuries over the past few months and has not represented Bangladesh since July last year.

However, Hossain was not the only player to be ousted from the list of centrally contracted players as opening batsman Anamul Haque and pace bowler Shafiul Islam suffered the same fate.

In their place, Bangladesh have given central contracts to Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman and Mustafizur Rahman.
