Cook is likely to make his Test debut in the fourth and final Test in Centurion

South Africa have added uncapped batsman Stephen Cook in their squad for the fourth and final Test against England in Centurion.

Cook has been in tremendous form as of late as he has scored 168 not out, 118 and 76 in his last three matches for Lions in the Sunfoil Series, which is South Africa’s domestic first-class competition.

Cook is likely to replace opening batsman Stiaan van Zyl, who has struggled throughout the series, scoring 69 runs at a dismal average of 13.80.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is set to return after he missed the third Test in Johannesburg with a knee injury, which occurred while he was walking his dog.

South Africa have already lost the series as England hold an unassailable 2-0 lead, but the Proteas, who were also dethroned as the top Test team, will looking to earn a consolation win in Centurion.
