Zimbabwe have managed to secure the services of former South Africa pace bowler Makhaya Ntini and ex-Sri Lanka batsman Marvan Atapattu, according to a report that was published on the Zimbabwe Cricket website on Tuesday.
The report said that Ntini would be the national team’s assistant coach, while Atapattu had joined as a batting consultant.
The report added that Ntini had been given a two-year contract, while Atapattu would be Zimbabwe’s batting consultant throughout their tour of Bangladesh, which will consist of four Twenty20 Internationals and start on Friday.
Ntini, 38, is set to begin working on February 16, while former bowling coach Douglas Hondo will work with the Zimbabwe A squad.
Atapattu meanwhile will work on a consultant basis, but the report said that his “contract will be reviewed after the Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh, with a view to entering into a longer relationship”.
