Perth Scorchers batsman Michael Carberry smashed a spectacular 62 as his side emerged victorious by one run in a thrilling showdown against the Hobart Hurricanes.
Scorchers captain Adam Voges would have been mulling over his decision to bat first initially as his side kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
However, Carberry fired the Scorchers into an advantageous position with his innings of 62 off 35 balls, which included nine boundaries and a six, before Cameron Bancroft and David Willey scored 26 and 25 respectively to help the Scorchers finish on 173/5 off their 20 overs.
Shaun Tait was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Clive Rose and Cameron Boyce chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Chasing 174 to win, the Hurricanes lost Ben Dunk and Kumar Sangakkara early on before skipper Tim Paine took over and hammered a quickfire 57, which came off 47 balls and included four boundaries and two sixes.

Michael Hill edged the Hurricanes closer to their target with his rapid knock of 23 before Jonathan Well and Darren Sammy tried to finish things off.
Heading into the last over, the Hurricanes needed 16 runs to win and Sammy scored 10 runs off the first four balls. Disaster struck on the fifth as Wells was run out for 20, meaning that the Hurricanes needed six runs to win off the last ball. Unfortunately, Sammy only scored a boundary off the last ball and the Scorchers subsequently escaped with a one-run win.
Ashton Agar was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Willey, Andrew Tye and Brad Hogg claimed one wicket each.
Carberry was named Man of the Match.
