The weather had the final say on the second day of the third Test in Sydney, but there was a bright spot during the day, which belonged to West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite.
Starting out the day on 207/6, the rain came after just three balls and there was an 80-minute delay. However, once things cleared up, Brathwaite took the attack to Australia and powered his way to a career-best 69 off 71 balls, which included seven boundaries and four sixes.
However, he would have been kicking himself when he was bamboozled by an excellent fullish outswinger by Australia seamer James Pattinson.

Kemar Roach joined Denesh Ramdin at the crease, but play was stopped when the heavens parted again.
With the rain refusing to relent, the umpires had no choice but to bring play to an end for the day. To make matters worse, the forecast for the third day is not much better, which will be a boost for the West Indies as they will be keen to avoid being whitewashed 3-0.
Ramdin finished on 30 off 103 balls, which included two boundaries, while Roach has yet to get off the mark.
Pattinson and Nathan Lyon picked up two wickets apiece, while Josh Hazlewood and Steve O’Keefe claimed one wicket each.
The West Indies ended day two on 248/7 and will continue batting tomorrow at 10:00 local time or 23:00 GMT (Previous day).
