Perth Scorchers skipper Michael Klinger smashed an unbeaten 90 and his opening partner Shaun Marsh hammered 76 not out to lead their side to a convincing 10-wicket win over the Melbourne Renegades.
Klinger would have been mulling over his decision to bowl first early on as the Renegades’ opening pair of captain Aaron Finch and Chris Gayle amassed a 98-run partnership, during which Finch brought up his half-century, before Gayle was caught behind off the bowling of Jason Behrendorff for 41.
Behrendorff struck again the very next ball as he dismissed Cameron White caught and bowled for a golden duck.
Finch ended up making 72 off 48 balls, which included six boundaries and three sixes, before he was dismissed by David Willey.

Matthew Wade gave the Renegades a major spark towards the end of their innings as his quickfire 35 helped them finish on 170/4 off their 20 overs.
Behrendorff was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Willey and Andrew Tye chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Chasing 171 to win, Klinger and Marsh never looked to be in any trouble as they amassed an unbeaten 171-run partnership, during which both batsmen registered their half-centuries, to hand the Scorchers a 10-wicket win.
Klinger finished on 90 off 58 balls, which included seven boundaries and three sixes, while Marsh remained undefeated on 76 off 54 deliveries, which included three boundaries and three sixes.
