Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn’s spectacular century went in vain as the Hobart Hurricanes defeated his side by 15 runs.
Daniel Christian starred for the Hurricanes as he hammered an unbeaten 56 in quick time.
Hurricanes skipper Tim Paine would have been pleased with his decision to bat first as all the top order batsmen made decent contributions and set a solid foundation for the middle order to build on.
Christian did exactly that as he hammered 56 off 24 balls, which included three boundaries and four sixes, to help the Hurricanes finish on 194/4 off their 20 overs.
Samuel Badree was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, while Mark Steketee and Luke Feldman chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Chasing 195 to win, Lynn was the only batsmen to have a major impact for the Heat as he blasted 101 off just 51 deliveries, which included five boundaries and seven sixes.

Lynn did not receive enough support from his team-mates as Sam Heazlett was the only other batsman to surpass the 20-run mark. As a result, the Heat fell short of their target despite Lynn’s valiant effort to get them across the finish line.
Jake Reed was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Cameron Boyce snapped up two and Darren Sammy and Shaun Tait claimed one wicket each.
Lynn was named Man of the Match.
