Uncapped pace bowler Miguel Cummins has been called up as Shannon Gabriel’s replacement for the ongoing three-Test series against Australia.
Gabriel suffered an ankle injury on the first day of the first Test in Hobart and played no further part in the match as his side were crushed by an innings and 212 runs.
Cummins has yet to make his Test debut, but has represented the West Indies in one ODI against Ireland in February 2014.
The 25-year-old, who has taken 99 first-class wickets in 36 domestic matches at an average of 22.83, could feature in the West Indies’ two-day tour match against Victoria in Geelong on Saturday.
