Australia continued to dominate the West Indies on the second day of the first Test in Hobart despite batsman Darren Bravo’s unbeaten knock of 94.
Starting out the day on 438/3, Australia batsmen Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh continued to take the attack to the tourists as they converted their 317-run partnership into a 449-run stand, during which Voges brought up his maiden double century and Marsh surpassed the 150-run mark.
The partnership, which has gone down in the record books as the highest fourth-wicket partnership in Test history, was finally ended when Marsh was caught by Bravo at deep midwicket off the bowling of Jomel Warrican.
Marsh’s career-best knock of 182 came off 266 balls and included 15 boundaries and a six.
Voges and Mitchell Marsh put together an unbeaten 13-run stand before Australia captain Steven Smith decided to declare with his side on 583/4.
Voges ended up finishing on a career-best 269, which came off 285 deliveries and included 33 boundaries.

Warrican was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Shannon Gabriel chipped in with one.
Trailing by 583 runs, the West Indies were reduced to 116/6 in the 40th over before Bravo and Kemar Roach amassed an unbeaten 91-run partnership, during which Bravo registered his half-century, before stumps was called.
Bravo finished on 94 off 159 balls, which included 17 boundaries, while Roach remained undefeated on 31 off 89 deliveries, which included three boundaries.
Nathan Lyon was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Josh Hazlewood snapped up two and Peter Siddle claimed one.
The West Indies ended day two on 207/6 and will continue batting on Saturday at 10:30 local time or 23:30 GMT (Previous day).
