Steyn will miss the fourth Test

South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the fourth and final Test against India in Delhi as he has not sufficiently recovered from the groin injury he sustained during the first Test in Mohali.

With India already holding on to an unassailable 2-0 lead heading into the final Test, Steyn, who has only bowled 11 overs during the ongoing series, was likely to be kept out of the playing XI as South Africa will want him to be fully fit for the upcoming series against England.

“I can confirm that Dale Steyn is not going to be fit,” South Africa captain Hashim Amla said. “Dale is not playing in this game.”
