Pakistan batsman Mohammad Rizwan struck a quickfire 55 not out to help his side beat Hong Kong by 64 runs in a one-off Twenty20 International in Dubai.

Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi would have been mulling over his decision to bat first as his side lost wickets at regular intervals.

Rizwan proved to be the only batsman to have a major impact as he smashed an unbeaten 55, which came off 38 balls and included five boundaries and two sixes.

Aamer Yamin, Rafatullah Mohmand and Sohaib Maqsood all got off to promising starts, but were unable to convert their knocks into bigger scores as they were dismissed for 27, 25 and 25 respectively.

Thanks to Rizwan’s entertaining, but crucial, innings, Pakistan finished on 167/7 off their 20 overs.

Haseeb Amjad was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Anshuman Rath snapped up two and captain Tanwir Afzal and Aizaz Khan chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 168 to win, Mark Chapman was the only batsman to make a major contribution as he scored 50 off 39 balls, which included five boundaries and two sixes.

Afridi and Bilal Asif took two wickets apiece, while Yamin, Sohail Tanvir and Imran Khan claimed one wicket each.
