Pakistan have re-included batsman Umar Akmal in the Twenty20 squad for the upcoming series against England after he was cleared by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) security and vigilance department.
Akmal was dropped from the squad after the PCB issued him a show cause notice following reports that he had been involved in immoral activities during a house party in Hyderabad.
“Now that he has been cleared after an inquiry into the Hyderabad incident, he has been included in the squad,” chief selector Haroon Rasheed said.
It has also been confirmed that all-rounder Bilal Asif will be drafted into the side as a replacement for Imad Wasim.
Wasim broke the little finger on his left hand during a domestic match last month and will still need two more weeks to recover, according to PCB doctor Sohail Saleem.
