South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn may miss the second Test against India in Bangalore as he is still recovering from a groin strain he suffered during the first Test in Mohali.
Steyn did not bowl during India’s second innings, but did come out to bat in his side’s 108-run loss.
With the second Test set to start on Saturday, Steyn will have to pass a fitness test two days prior if he is to have any chance of featuring in the match.
However, while Steyn has been listed as doubtful, there is better news for the Proteas in regards to Jean Paul (JP) Duminy and Morne Morkel.
Duminy did not play in Mohali due to a hand injury, but the all-rounder is nearing full fitness after he had the stitches removed on the first day of the first Test. As a result, he is highly likely to be available for the second Test.
Morkel meanwhile is definitely available for selection as he has made a full recovery from a quad strain.
