New Zealand all-rounder Grant Elliott has been ruled out for at least a month after he broke his arm in the nets.

Elliott sustained the injury when he put his arms up to defend himself after a ball had been struck back at him. As a result, the ball struck his arm and he suffered a fracture close to his wrist.

Elliott’s recovery time has been set at four to six weeks, meaning that he could miss New Zealand’s Boxing Day ODI against Sri Lanka.

“My hand feels pretty good but mobility could be the issue,” Elliott said.

The Black Caps will be hoping that Elliott makes a quick recovery as they will be playing ODIs against Sri Lanka, Australia and Pakistan in the coming months.
