Pakistan off-spinner Bilal Asif has been cleared to bowl in all international matches after the International Cricket Council (ICC) concluded that his bowling action was legal.

Asif was reported after the third ODI against Zimbabwe earlier this month, where he took career-best figures of 5 for 25 to help Pakistan win the series 2-1. He subsequently had his action tested at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on October 19.

“At the assessment, it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension in all of Asif’s deliveries was well within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations,” the ICC said in a statement.

With Asif cleared to continue bowling, it remains to be seen whether he will be picked for the third and final Test against England in Sharjah.

Pakistan currently lead the series 1-0 after winning the second Test in Dubai by 178 runs.
