Former India batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu has been hospitalised in New Delhi with “acute deep vein thrombosis”, but is reported to be in stable condition.

Sidhu was rushed to hospital on Wednesday after developing a clot in his vein and is currently on the mend after being put on blood thinners.

“Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Delhi today evening with acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT),” a statement issued by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital authorities said. “This is a life threatening condition if not treated on time. Mr Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been recovering well. His condition is said to be stable as of now.”
