The Test series between Bangladesh and South Africa is all set to end as a 0-0 draw after Cyclone Komen caused the fourth day of the second Test in Mirpur to be washed out.
Not a single ball was bowled for the third consecutive day, but the covers were removed and a 1pm inspection was scheduled. However, just an hour before the umpires were supposed to inspect the ground, the heavens parted once again.
Bangladesh continue to sit on 246/8 after 88.1 overs, which all occurred on the first day. Since then, the teams have, for the most part, been holed up in their hotel rooms.
Should the series end as a 0-0 draw, the Proteas will consider themselves extremely unlucky as they will lose five points on the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test team rankings. Even though they will continue to sit in first place, Bangladesh, who are ranked ninth, are set to gain six points.
