Zimbabwe have recalled off-spinner John Nyumbu to their squad for the first two ODIs against New Zealand in Harare.
However, Nyumbu’s addition was just one of four changes the Zimbabweans made as they also drafted batsman Craig Ervine, pace bowler Chris Mpofu and all-rounder Luke Jongwe, who has not played international cricket since August last year, back into the squad.
Zimbabwe have also opted to drop wicketkeeper Richmond Mutumbami, batsman Malcolm Waller and the pace duo of Donald Tiripano and Brian Vitori due to their poor performances during the recent ODI series against India, which Zimbabwe lost 3-0.
Zimbabwe Squad (first two ODIs): Elton Chigumbura (captain), Chamu Chibhabha, Hamilton Masakadza, Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza, Sean Williams, Regis Chakabva (wk), Graeme Cremer, Prosper Utseya, Tinashe Panyangara, Christopher Mpofu, John Nyumbu, Vusi Sibanda, Luke Jongwe, Neville Madziva
