The International Cricket Council (ICC) have confirmed that their Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) will be launching an investigation into the World T20 Qualifier match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong, which was played on Tuesday.
It is understood that the ACSU noticed unusual betting patterns during the match and will now speak to leading betting companies, including Betfair, to get a better idea of what happened.
The investigation is likely to take some of the spotlight off Hong Kong’s incredible five-wicket win off the last ball of the match, which secured their qualification for the 2016 World Twenty20 in India.
