A brilliant all-round performance by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots saw them breeze past the St Lucia Zouks by 26 runs.

Zouks captain Darren Sammy would have been fairly content with his decision to bowl first as many of the Patriots batsmen got off to a promising starts, but were unable to convert it into big scores as they threw their wickets away.

Shane Dowrich ended up being the Patriots’ top-scorer with 38, while opener Martin Guptill was the second-highest scorer with 35.

With small contributions coming from many of their lower order batsmen, the Patriots managed to finish on 170/8 off their 20 overs.

Nathan McCullum was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets while, Shannon Gabriel, Fidel Edwards, Kemar Roach and Keron Cottoy chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Chasing 171 to win, none of the Zouks batsmen, with the exception of opener Andre Fletcher, were able to make valuable contributions.

Fletcher smashed 59 off 43 balls, which included four boundaries and three sixes, but received no support from any of his team-mates as the rest of the batting line-up were unable to surpass the 20-run mark.

Carlos Brathwaite was the most successful bowler with three wickets, while Shahid Afridi snapped up two and Sohail Tanvir, Raymon Reifer and debutant Jomel Warrican claimed one wicket each.

Dowrich was named Man of the Match.
