St Kitts and Nevis Patriots spinner Tarbraiz Shamsi claimed four wickets and captain Marlon Samuels smashed an unbeaten 71 to lead their side to an eight-wicket win over the Barbados Tridents.
Opting to bat first, the Tridents were in trouble right from the beginning and were on track for a low score before captain Kieron Pollard hammered a quickfire 49 off 33 balls, which included five sixes, to help them finish on 135/8 off their 20 overs.
Shamsi picked up four wickets, while Shahid Afridi snapped up three.
Chasing 136 to win, the Patriots lost opening batsman Evin Lewis early before Samuels and Guptill amassed an 85-run partnership.
The partnership came to an end when Guptill was run out by Ashley Nurse for 45, which came off 35 deliveries and included two boundaries and three sixes.
Samuels and Carlos Brathwaite mopped up the remaining runs to lead the Patriots to victory.
Samuels ended up finishing on 71 off 54 balls, which included six boundaries and three sixes.
Dwayne Smith was the only bowler to take a wicket.
Shamsi edged out Samuels for the Man of the Match award.
