Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir suffered a hairline fracture in his toe while playing in a Twenty20 tournament in Pakistan.
Amir, who was playing for Sui Southern Gas, has been advised to rest for three weeks.
“He (Amir) was hit on the toe while collecting a throw from another fielder and after we took him to hospital it was revealed he had suffered a hairline fracture in his toe,” Sui Southern Gas team manager Saeed Mohammad told PTI. “It was an unfortunate incident as Amir has been working very hard on his fitness preparing for the September deadline.”
Amir is currently banned from playing international cricket due to his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal in 2010 and will only be allowed to make his international comeback in September.
