Pakistan have recalled batsman Haris Sohail from the ongoing tour of Sri Lanka after he sustained a knee injury during a training session in Galle.

As a result of his injury, Sohail is highly unlikely to take part in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka.

His absence will be a major blow for Pakistan, especially since he has scored 774 runs, which includes seven half-centuries, at an average of 43.

“Sohail is suffering from a tendon injury in his left knee sustained in a fielding practice session on June 19 in Galle, and he will be returning back tonight to undergo rehabilitation,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said via a statement.
