England have called up Somerset pace bowler Jamie Overton for the last two ODIs against New Zealand after fellow seamer Liam Plunkett suffered a thigh injury.

The 21-year-old, who has played 14 List A games and taken 20 wickets at an average of 27, will join his twin brother Craig, who was drafted into the squad after pace bowler Chris Jordan sustained a side strain in the second ODI at The Oval.

With Plunkett and Jordan ruled out for the remainder of the series, there is a chance that the twins could make their international debuts during the fourth ODI in Nottingham or the final match in Durham.

However, they will face stiff competition from the pace trio of Steven Finn, Mark Wood and David Willey.

Jaime, the younger of the twins, was called up to the England squad during the 2013 ODI series against Australia, but did not get selected for any of the matches.
