India batsman Lokesh Rahul has been ruled out of the one-off Test against Bangladesh on June 10 due to dengue fever.
Rahul flew to Kolkata for a fitness test on Saturday, but was immediately left out of the squad after he was examined by the medical staff.
With the Test squad already containing a plethora of batsmen, BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur opted against calling up a replacement for Rahul.
Following his return from Australia, where he made his Test debut and ended up posting scores of 3, 1, 110 and 16, Rahul enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in five Ranji Trophy matches, amassing 838 runs, which included a career-best knock of 337 against Uttar Pradesh and 188 against Tamil Nadu in the final, at an average of 93.11.
