The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have nominated legendary batsman Zaheer Abbas for the position of International Cricket Council (ICC) president.
The nomination comes just a day after former PCB chairman Najam Sethi pulled out of the running as he wanted an ex-player to hold the post.
Sethi was actually set to replace Mustafa Kamal as the ICC president for a period of 12 months from July 1, but opted against it at the last minute.
The ICC now have just under a month to appoint a new president and are expected to do so during their next meeting in Barbados at the end of the month.
