Legendary India batsmen Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will constitute the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) cricket advisory committee.

The committee will be contacted for all major cricket-related decisions and are also understood to be in charge of finding suitable and qualified candidates should a new head coach or team director be needed.

Furthermore, should current team director Ravi Shastri be unavailable for India’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh, Tendulkar, Ganguly or Laxman may join the national team in a mentoring role.

The trio are also likely to be involved in helping develop Indian cricket further and are also set to mentor and groom up-and-coming players over the next three months.

“I am happy to note that our eminent cricketers have come forward to lend their experience and insights as we work towards a common goal of taking Indian Cricket to greater heights,” BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya said in a press release. “The coming generations are bound to benefit from the guidance that will be provided by these luminaries and will go a long way in strengthening our existing system.”
