England pace bowler Liam Plunkett has been included in the squad for the second Test against New Zealand at Headingley, which starts on Friday.

All the other players who were in the side for England’s sensational 124-run win during the first Test at Lord’s have retained their place.

But, should the national selectors decide to change things up, Plunkett may get the opportunity to play on his home ground.

Although Plunkett’s last Test match came against India in July last year, he did represent the England Lions during their tour of South Africa in the winter.

Plunkett took seven wickets during the unofficial two-Test series at an average of 28.71 and claimed four wickets during the unofficial five-match ODI series at an average of 24.

Following his stint with the Lions, Plunkett joined the England team for their tour of the West Indies in April-May, but did not play a single Test match.

England head into the second and final Test against New Zealand with a 1-0 lead in hand.
