Ireland all-rounder Kevin O’Brien will be joining his brother Niall at Leicestershire after the club decided to sign him for the Natwest T20 Blast.
O’Brien will arrive at Grace Road on May 15 and represent Leicestershire until June 26.
The 31-year-old all-rounder has played 125 Twenty20s and scored 1,980 runs at an average of 22.50. He has also taken 68 wickets at an average of 22.94.
“It is great to have Kevin as part of our NatWest T20 Blast team in 2015,” Leicestershire’s chief executive Wasim Khan said. “Kevin adds further international experience to a line-up that includes his brother Niall, Grant Elliott, Mark Cosgrove, Clint McKay and Rob Taylor, and we look forward to seeing him in action at Grace Road.”
