Pakistan left-arm pace bowler Mohammad Irfan has been ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup after suffering a stress fracture in his pelvis.
Irfan sustained the injury ahead of Pakistan’s crucial group stage clash with Ireland on March 15 in Adelaide.
Irfan’s injury is a major blow for Pakistan as they face Australia in the quarter-finals on March 20 in Adelaide.
“This injury rules Irfan out of the World Cup,” Pakistan physiotherapist Brad Robinson said.
