England pace bowler Chris Jordan has announced that he would love to experience the glitz and glamour that comes with being an Indian Premier League (IPL) cricketer.
Even though the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have been hesitant about letting players participate in the tournament since it clashes with the start of the county season, Jordan believes it helps improve players’ skills in pressure situations.
“Most people would like the opportunity,” Jordan said. “Do I feel disadvantaged? It’s hard to say because I haven’t played in that league to know how it would effect my game.
“Playing in those leagues does improve cricketers and if I do get the opportunity I’d love to play.”
Meanwhile, Jordan also noted that the ECB shouldn’t overreact following the national team’s disappointing World Cup campaign.
“There’s loads of talent not just in that dressing room but in the whole of England,” he said. “We’ve beaten some good teams in the past and we will beat good teams in the future. I don’t think there needs to be wholesale changes.”
