Cricket Ireland have announced that head coach Phil Simmons has not yet finalised a deal to become the West Indies’ head coach.

It is understood that Simmons is one of the top contenders for the job, which has been vacant ever since Ottis Gibson resigned last August.

“It is not something we want to talk about when the tournament is on,” Cricket Ireland’s media manager Barry Chambers told AFP. “Nothing has been finalised. It is definitely not a done deal.”
