Jagmohan Dalmiya has replaced Naryanaswami Srinivasan as president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Dalmiya, who last held the position more than a decade ago, was unanimously elected as president of the board during the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Chennai.
Meanwhile, Anurag Thakur defeated Sanjay Patel by one vote to become the new BCCI secretary.
Amitabh Chaudhary was named joint secretary after edging out Chetan Desai in a tie. Interim president Shivlal Yadav broke the deadlock by voting in favour of Chaudhary.
Meanwhile, Anirudh Chaudhary had no problems defeating Rajiv Shukla for the treasurers post.
However, the biggest shock of the day came when Jyotiraditya Scindia was beaten by CK Khanna in the race for the vice-president (central zone) position.
TC Mathew beat Ravi Sawant for the vice-president (west) position, while ML Nehru, G Gangaraju, and Gautam Roy became vice-presidents of North, South, and East zones respectively after being elected unopposed.
