Johnson Charles will replace Darren Bravo in the West Indies’ World Cup squad after the latter suffered a low-grade hamstring tear.

Bravo sustained the injury during the West Indies’ 150-run win over Pakistan.

Despite missing his side’s World Cup matches against Zimbabwe and South Africa, Bravo was expected to be available for their match against India on March 6. However, it was recently revealed that Bravo was still unable to run and that his injury was taking longer than expected to heal.

Bravo will now return home for treatment after the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Event Technical Committee allowed Charles to take his spot on the roster.
