Former Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has allegedly won a lengthy legal battle against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Akhtar has been fighting to recover seven million rupees, which was deducted from his earnings in 2007.

Akhtar was initially fined 3.4 million rupees and banned for 13 matches for hitting team-mate Mohammad Asif with a bat prior to the 2007 World Twenty20 in South Africa.

However, an appellate tribunal later reduced Akhtar’s ban, but increased his fine to seven million rupees.
