Australia and Bangladesh both received one point since the rain refused to relent

Fans at the Gabba in Brisbane were left disappointed and frustrated after Australia’s match against Bangladesh was washed out due to heavy rain.

Australia came into this match after having demolished England by 111 runs, while Bangladesh headed into the match after having crushed Afghanistan by 105 runs.

Since Brisbane was being buffeted by a tropical cyclone, it was not even possible for both captains to walk out to the middle for the toss.

As a result of the match being abandoned, both Bangladesh and Australia will receive one point each.
