England batsman Michael Carberry may miss the start of the County Championship season after revealing that he will be entering the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.
The auction is scheduled to take place on Monday and, if Carberry is bought by one of the IPL franchises, it is unknown how many county matches the Hampshire opener will miss.
Carberry’s move to enter the IPL auction comes after he enjoyed a successful season with the Perth Scorchers, who won the Big Bash League (BBL) for a second year in a row.
