Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi and seven other players have been fined 300 Australian dollars (US$230) for breaking team curfew.
All the players that were fined have also been told that if they break curfew again, they will be dropped from the World Cup squad and be sent back home on the first available flight.
“Eight of the Pakistan players, which also included former captain Shahid Afridi and opener Ahmed Shehzad, were fined 300 Australian dollars (US$230) after they came late to their Sydney hotel on Sunday,” sources within the Pakistan team said.
According to team manager Naveed Cheema, who served in the military, the players arrived back at the hotel 45 minutes late following a night out.
“These players went with their friends for dinner but came back late,” a team source said.
