Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal and Bangladesh spinner Sohag Gazi have been given permission to bowl in international matches again after their bowling actions were found to be legal.
Both Ajmal and Gazi underwent remedial work on their actions when they were banned from bowling. As a result of that, every single one of their deliveries was found to be below the 15-degree flex limit during the test.
Ajmal and Gazi had their actions retested at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai on January 24.
Ajmal was suspended from bowling in September, while Gazi was reported for a suspect action in August and banned from bowling in October.
Ajmal was withdrawn from Pakistan’s World Cup squad since the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) “didn’t want to take a risk with his career”.
Gazi meanwhile did not make the cut for Bangladesh’s 15-man World Cup squad.
