Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara has broken the record for the most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in ODIs.

Sangakkara went atop the all-time list with 473 dismissals when he caught New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson off the bowling of Shaminda Eranga in the seventh ODI in Wellington.

Sangakkara also needs to score 11 more runs to overtake former Australia captain Ricky Ponting as the second-highest ODI run-scorer in history. India batsman Sachin Tendulkar still holds the record for the most runs scored in ODIs with 18,426 runs.

In addition to all that, Sangakkara also needs two more double centuries to dethrone the legendary Sir Donald Bradman as the cricketer with the most double hundreds in Test cricket history. Bradman scored 12 double centuries during his illustrious career, while Sangakkara currently has 11.
