Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Kulasekara has been reprimanded for celebrating in an aggressive manner during the seventh ODI against New Zealand in Wellington.
The incident occurred after Kulasekara clean bowled New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi for 47 in the 40th over.
“Kulasekara admitted to a breach of Article 2.1.8 of the ICC (International Cricket Council) Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel,” the ICC said via a statement.
The charge against Kulasekara was brought forth by on-field umpires Chris Gaffaney and Rod Tucker, third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Derek Walker.
Since Kulasekara pleaded guilty to breaching the ICC Code of Conduct, there will be no need for a formal hearing.
