Pakistan all-rounder Haris Sohail developed a fever and was unable to attend training after he complained of a “supernatural presence” in his hotel room at Rydges Latimer in Christchurch.

Sohail, who is in New Zealand with the rest of the national team, claims that the “supernatural presence” woke him up by shaking the bed. As a result of this, Sohail sought refuge in head coach Waqar Younis’ room.

Team manager Naveed Akram Cheema revealed that Sohail called a member of the coaching staff after his bed shook.

Younis rushed to Sohail’s room immediately and found him “shaken and feverish”.

While the team management have tried to convince Sohail that his fever may have been the result of a nightmare, the all-rounder is adamant that is was caused by the “supernatural presence”.

When asked about Sohail’s spooky encounter, the management team at the Rydges Latimer said that they have no knowledge of any “active ghost” on its premises.
