After details emerged that former Pakistan captain-turned-politician Imran Khan had married former BBC presenter Reham Khan, he made it clear that “getting married isn’t a crime”.

Imran initially denied the rumours for several days before conceding that he had indeed married the 41-year-old.

“I am going to Pakistan to share the good news of my marriage with the nation. I have nothing to hide,” he said. “Getting married isn’t a crime. A person can marry whenever he/she wants.”

However, his sister Aleema told the Daily Mail that she does not approve of the marriage and added that the entire family had confronted Khan about it “a few days ago”.
